Message from the Principal
We made it through our first full week of classes! While I have always valued the educational partnership with our families, our current circumstances has amplified my appreciation. Thank you for working with us as we all master our routines in distance learning. Thank you for reaching out by Zoom, phone, email, Classtag and attending your scheduled meetings for additional support. Thank you for teaching with us!
As we journey down this path, it is important to remind you that our live meetings are mandated. If your child is not attending these meetings and you are not communicating with your teacher through other means, your child will be marked absent from school. I cannot stress enough the importance of regularly communicating with your teacher so that our attendance records reflect your child's participation. It is also required that your child turns in their completed work and picks up their new packet on the weekly schedule set by your teacher.
I appreciate the many families who have scheduled regular meetings with their teacher. As you continue with these weekly visits, please be mindful to arrive on time so that your teacher can offer as much support as possible and not impact their meetings that follow.
Next week, a few of our teachers we will be working with very small groups of students who require specific program supports. For this reason, you may see our school buses running in the community. We are truly doing our best to meet the unique needs of our school community while adhering to the COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. Thank you for your understanding.
As always, please reach out to the school office or child's teacher if you need any assistance during this time.
This year, our teachers are using the Classtag App in order to provide one more layer of school communication. The vast majority of you have been invited by your child's teacher to sign up and join their class.. If you have chose to download this app, we encourage you to check this on a regular basis for classroom announcements as well as to send your teacher messages when you have a question or concern. To learn more you can watch this video. https://youtu.be/8WVeNt6k15U
Presently half of our families have logged into the Aeries system to establish a student account and confirm their child's data. It is important to note, that even if you have chosen to enroll your child in the yearlong distance learning program, you still must go through this process. If you need your verification passcode or your student ID please reach out to the school office.
Live Meeting Protocols
During your child's Zoom or Google Meet classes it is important that your student is ready for learning. After signing onto your meeting on time, please make sure they are seated in a chair without distractions. Students and family members who are in view of the camera need to mindful of dressing appropriately during the meetings. Thank you for following these expectations.
