Media statement:
Te Kura ō Te Pāroa would like to inform whānau and the community that the roll for 2024 is now closed. Due to our restrictions for sewage, water and new buildings, we are unable to take any more on our roll.
Our 2024 roll opens with 308 tamariki. However we have already received enrollments for Terms 2- Terms 4 that will take us over our maximum roll number.
We appreciate that this news will mean that some tamariki not enrolled already will not be able to start in 2024. We do thank all whānau for choosing us as the kura for the future of their tamariki! Roll closure includes Auraki and Rumaki classes.
We are taking enrollments for 2025 and encourage all those with 4 year olds to enrol early. Any new enrollments will be added to a waiting list and whanau will be informed when a space is made available.
Tamariki pick/drop off
Please DO NOT park in front of the kura or across the road when dropping off or collecting tamariki. You need to drive around into the bus bay area.
Drop off and pick up times in the bus bay area :
AM: Between 8am-9am
PM: Between 2.40pm and 3pm.
Some parents are still parking across the road waiting to collect their tamariki in the afternoons. We do not want to see any near misses or fatal accidents with any of our tamariki outside the kura.
Attendance across the year for 2023:
“Attendance matters-every student, on time, every day.”
He mihi tenei ki a koutou kātoa, We would like to express our thanks and gratitude to all the whānau and tamariki that have supported us this year in achieving consistent and regular attendance.
I am proud to announce that we have 144 students that have attended between 90%-100% this year. These students will receive their certificate and iceblock next week.
Whānau I also want to acknowledge you play a major role you have played in your tamaiti attending kura every day. You organise them in the mornings, drop them off to their bus drops or school and you install the values that every learning day matters.
Thank you for your support throughout the year.
Aquabots
Our team won the Sportsmanship trophy over 39 teams. This trophy was awarded as the two Te Kura o Te Paroa teams showed kindness to each other, other teams and most importantly to the judges.
We did not place Nationally but gained new learning to help us make better robots next year. We know how to drive and move robots, complete tasks as a team, persevere under pressure and try to fix our robots by ourselves. Next year we are looking at remodelling our robots and making them smaller and faster so they can manoeuvre quicker under water. We watched what the winning teams did and they shared some good tips with us like Polarised glasses, stepping out the course. Looking forward to having a few more teams and making it to Nationals in Auckland in 2024!
