How does the type of circuit affect the strand of Christmas lights with a burned out bulb?
The independent variable is the circuit and the dependent variable is the light.
If the Christmas lights are arranged in a parallel circuit then when 1 bulb bursts(is removed) the other bulbs will still light up.
I noticed in a parallel circuit, all of the lights are attached to different wires but still light up.
I noticed when you bust one of the bulbs, the other bulbs still light up.
If the Christmas lights are arranged in a series circuit then 1 bulb bursts(is removed) the other bulbs will not work.
I noticed when connected in a series circuit, all of the lights light up even though they are all connected to each other.
I noticed when you busted one of the bulbs the rest of the bulbs stop lighting up.
In conclusion, a parallel circuit is the best series to use for Christmas lights because if a bulb burns out the others will still work. With a series circuit, when one bulb burns out the others will not work because they only have one way the voltages can travel. A parallel circuit has different passage ways the voltages can travel.
