Welcome Back Students!!!!

The faculty and staff are excited to welcome all students back for another school year. We cannot wait to see the impact the class of 2020 will have on CAVALIER NATION as they begin the final leg of their CCPS journey. We look forward to the classes of 2021 and 2022 continuing to meet high expectations. The class of 2023 will have the support of the teachers, staff, and administration as they start their freshmen year. After School Library Hours -- Starting on August 19th

Monday, Aug. 19th, 3pm

CHS

After School Library Hours will start the week of August 19, 2019. The library will open after school each week on Monday and Tuesday from 3 pm until 5:30 pm or when the activity buses arrive.

Cell Phones/Electronic Devices at CHS

Students are permitted to use their cellphones to listen to music through earbuds or headphones in the cafeteria, hallways, and library before school starts and during class period transitions. Cell Phones and other electronic devices are to be out of sight and silenced during instructional time.

How to start your day at CHS

Monday, Aug. 12th, 7:30am

Be in your assigned classroom for 1st block

Students should be in their assigned classrooms by 7:30 am each day.


  • The tardy bell will ring at 7:30 am.
  • Students arriving late to school must report to and sign in with Mrs. Spaulding in the main office.
  • Morning announcements, the moment of silence, and the pledge of allegiance will follow the 7:30 am bell.

Counseling Department Update

Schedules
    1. If your student needs their schedule printed, please see the librarians beginning at 7:30 am.

    2. If your student has an error on their schedule, counselors will be available in the library at the beginning of each block to help. Schedule changes will only be made if students are missing a graduation requirement.

Students must register for parking passes with Mrs. Beasley in the main office.

Cavalier Athletics

Fall Sports scrimmages will begin next week. Please check www.battlefielddistrictva.org to check the schedule and sign up for alerts.

An update from Caroline County Parks and Recreation

Caroline Parks & Rec is seeking soccer players, ages 14-16, for a co-ed fall team. Practices will begin late August; games are on Saturdays. Deadline to register is 8/14/19. Call Parks & Rec for more info, (804) 633-7277

Grade Level Meetings

Administration will conduct grade level meetings this week on Wednesday and Thursday. Announcements will be made to release students from class for the following meetings:


  1. Freshmen Class Meeting -- 8/14/2019 from 7:45 am until 8:30 am in the auditorium.
  2. Senior Class Meeting -- 8/14/2019 from 9:30 am until 10:15 am in the auditorium.
  3. Sophomore Class Meeting -- 8/15/2019 from 7:45 am until 8:30 am in the auditorium.
  4. Junior Class Meeting -- 8/15/2019 from 9:30 am until 10:15 am in the auditorium.
