Continue to Thrive
We have completed the first semester! And not only completed it, but each one of you thrived and our students grew!
ACP Results are in; we will spend some time really digging into the data and making decisions as to what the next steps should be.
In summary, we have Major Successes to celebrate!
ACPs consist of 22 sections:
Chavez had passing rates above the District and/or Feeder in 10 areas!!
Chavez passing rates improved in 11 areas from last year!!
AND, in 7 of those areas, the gains were in DOUBLE DIGITS!!

4 Day Focus
Some of our students may not have enjoyed the last two weeks; their holidays might have been a disappointment, they lost the structured school day and possibly their interactions between friends. Unfortunately, our students may not have had adequate supervision for the last 16 days.
With this in mind, lets prepare to be the support they need, the care they deserve, and the hope that they are desperately desiring.

Teacher Driven Instruction (not textbook driven):
Our lessons should be students centered. Our questions planned by the teacher and at the highest levels of rigor.

Our small groups should be driving students forward. Document these groups in the binder.
Lesson Planning:
Planning should involve Depth of Knowledge/High Level questions, student stations, and small group instruction.
TEKS Understanding:
Diagram the most challenging TEKS for student impact.
High Level Questioning:
Resources: Hattie's Barometer of Influence, Costa's Level of Questioning, Depth of Knowledge, etc.
