Lady Trojans Volleyball Win Area Championship

On Monday, Oct. 22, the Lady Trojans swept Athens to win the Class 6A, Area 15 championship.

On Oct. 25, the Lady Trojans defeated Oxford and Gardendale to win a bid to the state volleyball tournament for the first time since 2014!

Student Attendance at Volleyball State Tournament

Students will be allowed to travel (on their own or with their parents) to the state volleyball games at the Birmingham Crossplex on Wednesday, 10/31. Permission forms were made available on Monday. The Lady Trojans play at 9:30 a.m. Students attending the game with a signed permission slip given to an administrator at the game will be excused for the day on Wednesday. If Muscle Shoals wins two games on Wednesday, they will play again Thursday at 1:15 p.m. If that occurs, students will be allowed to check-out of school on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. to travel back to the Birmingham Crossplex for the games. Wednesday's permission form is PINK and Thursday's permission form is BLUE.

Congratulations to social studies teacher, Ms. Mathis, for being chosen by colleagues as the 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year for MSHS!

State Band Competition is Saturday, November 3 at James F. Moore Stadium in Muscle Shoals

On November 3, James F. Moore stadium will be the venue of Alabama's first ever state marching band competition. In its inaugural year, there are 19 outstanding bands slated to compete from some of the highest quality programs around. Performances begin at 3:00 p.m. (see full schedule below). Muscle Shoals will compete at 7:20 p.m. We hope to see you there!


"Starting a state marching contest is long overdue and will absolutely help improve the quality of our ensembles. This is an exciting opportunity, and I am thrilled to be part of it!" - Pat Stegall, former band director at Muscle Shoals High School. Mr. Stegall will be one of the judges at the state band competition.

Cross Country Update

Varsity boys placed 3rd at the recent ABS Invitational; varsity girls placed 5th; JV boys placed 1st; JV girls had an incomplete team, but all 4 runners were top finishers.


Sectional championship meet is Nov. 1 at Palmer Park in Madison.

It's College Application Week! Students who have not applied to a four-year college will have the opportunity to do so on Tuesday in order to meet the Halloween deadline.


Balfour Senior graduation meeting is Wednesday, November 13 at 10:45am. At this meeting a Balfour representative will meet with seniors to go over purchasing graduation supplies (e.g. cap & gown).

Early Bird Prom Fee Payment

The prom fee is discounted to $125 until December 19th. After the Christmas break, the fee goes up to $150. Each junior is responsible for the prom fee in order to attend and it covers BOTH junior and senior year.
