Next week's Star Student will be: Demi Deshotels

Monday: Send in 10-12 pictures for the students to share with the class.
Friday: Students will read a book aloud to the class and they may bring an item for Show and Tell.

We have been setting goals for reading and math the past couple weeks. We are excited to share with you our goals.

We will be having student-led conferences the next couple weeks. Please be watching for an email from your teacher or and email of times to sign up for. They will be completed by November 4th.

Ok, we have one more week to collect all donations for our second grade basket! Those who want still to participate please turn in your items by next week ( Oct. 20th).

If items are all taken please feel free to purchase anything you see that goes with the theme " The Great Outdoors". Any donations are very much appreciated!

Reminder.. our fall carnival is coming up( Nov. 4th, Friday evening). Please try to make it! It's so much fun for the whole family. There will be a sign up genius come available close to this event. I'll be happy to send out to you guys! There will be lots of activities and spots available if you would like to volunteer a short 30 min. slot.

What Will We Learn Next Week??

Math :
  • Students will be able to write a 3 digit number in word form, standard form, and expanded form.
  • Students will be able to compare and order 3 digit numbers.
  • Students will be able to locate 3 digit numbers on a number line.

Language Arts (including Social Studies):

  • Students will be able to revise drafts by adding or deleting words, phrases, or sentences.
  • Students will be able to edit drafts for grammar and punctuation.
  • Students will be able to spell words with consonant suffixes.
  • Students will be able to describe how rhyme, rhythm, and repetition interact to create images in poetry.
  • Students will understand, make inferences and draw conclusions about the structure and elements of poetry and provide evidence from text to support their understanding.
