Location

There are two types of location, absolute and relative.

Absolute location is a specific location.

Relative location is an approximate location.


The absolute location of Albany is 42.6525° N, 73.7572° W


Albany is just northwest of St.Cloud.

Place

Place is an area defined by everything in it.

There are two types of place, human characteristic and physical characteristic.

Human characteristic is what is put in place by humans.

Physical characteristic are the landforms, climate and all the natural features.


Five physical characteristics of my home are trees, grass, hills, swap and Sand Lake

Five human characteristics of my home are garage, tarred driveway, shed, house and our garden.

Human Environmental Interaction

Human Environmental Interaction is how people adapt to, modify, and depend on the environment.

There are three types of Human Environmental Interaction, adapt, modify, and depend.

Adapt is making something suitable for a new use or purpose.

Modify is when you make partial or minor changes to something.

Depend is when you rely on something for support or maintenance.

Movement

Movement is the way that people, goods, and information move from one place to another.

Region

Region is an area defined by certain, similar, and unifying characteristics.


One unifying human feature of the Midwest is the restaurants.

One unifying physical feature of the Midwest is all of the lakes.
