Important Breakfast/Lunch Accounts Notice
Parents and Guardians,
As the end of the school year approaches at Greencastle Schools, we have to look at meal account balances and work to get them in the positive.
Starting May 1, 2017, there will be no charging of meals, breakfast or lunch. Please make sure to put money on your child's account or send money with them to school.
You may go online to see your child’s account balance or call your school cafeteria cashier.
Your child will be told, privately, if they have a low balance as they come thru the line or you may receive an e-mail.
An alternate meal will be served to students who go negative in their account. The alternative meal will meet nutrition guidelines, just like the regular tray lunch.
A low balance notification can be set up by you on-line in Skyward/Food Service if you so choose.
Any positive or negative balances will carry over to the next school year, except for seniors.
Questions please call Ms. Carrico at 765-653-3725 or email dcarrico@greencastle.k12.in.us
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

The office will be open until June 9th. Summer hours are 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Any medication not picked up by the above date will be discarded.

The Castle Workshops @ TZ 2017
Our TZ 3rd graders have been working on a creative narrative writing and digital storytelling project with their Castle Workshop. We are so grateful to have had the help and support of many individuals on this project. The Castle staff, Author Troy Cummings, and many DePauw faculty and students. We are excited to see the final published digital stories from our third grade students.
The TZ 4th grade students and teachers kicked off their sustainable school garden project recently with the help and support of The Castle program. GHS graduate and Lilly Scholar, Taylor Secrest, is the inspiration behind this project. The TZ 4th grade students will work together with The Castle team from the ground up on this collaborative and inspiring project. We are excited about the possibilities it will bring now and in the future.
Our 5th grade teachers are still in the planning and collaboration stages of their project. Look for more information to come soon about their exciting project.

Volunteer in the Classroom or Field Trip--Need Background Check On File--Good for One Year
At TZ we appreciate parents/guardians that would like to volunteer to assist in the classrooms and/or go on field trips. As a part of any volunteer activity, we must have a cleared background check on file for each person wanting to assist here at school or accompany a class on a field trip.
I wanted to take time to clarify the limited/volunteer background checks. These background checks are free to our volunteers. A limited/volunteer background check is only good for one calendar year. If a volunteer wishes to continue volunteering after one year, they must submit a new application.
A link to the form that needs to be completed and turned in to the TZ office is below. You may also come by the school to complete the form. We do need to have a copy of your driver’s license to process the request.
Again, we appreciate your willingness to volunteer.
