March is Reading Month
Dear Parents,
We will be hosting Reading Month for the month of March to encourage additional reading and fun activities for our students. This will officially begin on Monday, February 26, 2018. We have lots of fun and exciting events planned for this month. Each student per grade will have a minute goal to read by the end of the month, which will help us reach a school goal of minutes to read. The last day to turn in minute logs will be on Wednesday, March 28th.
Monthly Minute Goals for Each Student by Grade Level:
1st Grade...............................................................................675 minutes (26 minutes per day)
2nd Grade.............................................................................775 minutes (30 minutes per day)
3rd Grade..............................................................................875 minutes (34 minutes per day)
4th Grade..............................................................................975 minutes (38 minutes per day)
5th Grade.............................................................................1250 minutes (48 minutes per day)
6th Grade.............................................................................1500 minutes (57 minutes per day)
Don't Stop There!
Each student will receive a white calendar sheet with a space for logging minutes each day. Students and/or parents MUST keep a running tally of minutes which is recorded on the log each night. This reading log must be turned in to your child's teacher on Thursdays each week in order to receive credit!
