Dear Buff Family-
It is hard to believe we are at the end of the 2019-2020 school year. This year has certainly has been unlike anything we have ever been through before. We thank you for working with your students and continuing to encourage them to finish strong for the year. As we wind down for the year, please take notes of dates and other important information regarding next school year. We are not sure exactly what next year will look like but will pass along information as the district makes decisions.
We have asked seniors to submit any acceptance letters and/or scholarship awards to us throughout the year. The last day for seniors to submit these is May 22, 2020. Please be sure your senior has given this info to your child’s counselor.
Thanks again for your flexibility, patience and understanding as we have worked through the last 9 weeks. We miss our students and hope that we will get to see them soon!
Please stay healthy and safe. We look forward to seeing our Buffs!

Letter to Seniors and Parents From Ms. Sosa
Dear Senior Parents,
First, let me once again extend my sincere gratitude to you and your senior for your support, patience, and understanding during these past 9 weeks of school closure. It was certainly not the Spring we all hoped for, but my hope is that we rise from this stronger and more resilient.
Although it may seem difficult to believe, the high school journey for our seniors is rapidly drawing to a close. For parents and guardians, this is always a special moment. On behalf of all Samuel Clemens faculty and staff, please allow me to congratulate you and thank you for all your support these last four years. We feel very fortunate to have been able to partner with you and watch your child grow and shine.
We have been working hard to plan for as close to a traditional graduation ceremony as possible on June 30th at 7:30 PM. Keep in mind that SCUC has two options for this date. Plan A, if we are able to gather, is to hold graduation at Freeman Coliseum. If the governor and Bexar county do not allow for us to gather, Plan B is to hold the graduation ceremony at Lehnhoff Stadium. In addition, we are aware that several SCUC students have enlisted in the armed forces or have military appointments and will not be able to attend graduation on June 30th. We are planning an early graduation ceremony in mid- June, but only for these students. If your senior has enlisted in the armed forces or has a military appointment and cannot attend on June 30th, please contact Melissa Gossett, Clemens College, Career, and Military Readiness Advisor, no later than May 25th at mgossett@scuc.txed.net. Lastly, we are planning to have a graduation rehearsal with all seniors prior to June 30th. We will communicate a specific plan in a timely manner.
Also, the last official school day for seniors is May 22nd. Please urge your child to return his/her textbooks or library book(s) in the front of the school building this week, May 18th through May 21st, between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Seniors must also clear all obligations on MySchoolBucks prior to graduation.
Thanks again for all your support. I look forward to celebrating with you at graduation on June 30th.
Sincerely,
Missy Sosa, Clemens HS Principal

Yearbooks
Regretfully we were recently informed by Friesen’s, our yearbook company, that due to Covid-19 yearbook delivery will be delayed. Unfortunately we will not deliver the yearbooks on May 18th through May 21st as previously announced.
If the yearbooks arrive on campus prior to May 29th, the plan is to conduct a campus drive-through pick up. However, if the books arrive after May 29, we will mail yearbooks home via certified mail, signed for upon receipt.
