5th Grade
5th Grade at Adat Chaverim..... Simply the BEST!
You're Invited - Sunday - May 1st at 10:30am
Hello all,
The wedding is 5 days away!!! If you have not yet done so, please sign up for a food item for the reception below:). Also note, the cake decorating information for 5th grade girls is also included in this email.
Our food committee has put together a proposed menu for the 5th Grade Wedding Reception.
Please sign up below OR add something else that you think would make the day complete (no meat, please, as we are having a dairy reception)! Our students are quite the foodies, and are very excited for this part of the wedding!!!
There will be 23 students plus their families. This is a tasting, not a full-on meal:) Thank you for helping make our event a memorable (and delicious) one!
Please have all items here on May 1st by 9:30am for set-up purposes in disposable containers/trays. We will have limited access to the kitchen. Thanks!

This month in 5th Grade Judaica!
We have had a busy month of wedding prep and of studying Jewish Ethics. The students have had some very spirited and insightful discussions around many of the ethics that we explored. They are also quite the impressive wedding planners!
This Month in 5th Grade Hebrew!
This month, we are continuing to work hard on improving reading and comprehension skills. We are also working on learning more prayers.
We will finish the month with Birkat Shalom, which is the final blessing of the Amidah and is a prayer for peace. The prayer asks G_d for peace in the world forever.
Jewish tradition teaches that nothing is more important that Shalom - Peace. That is why we greet each other and say goodbye with the wish of Shalom.
The evening service begins with Shalom Rav, which means "great peace". In the morning, it begins with the words "Sim Shalom," which means "grant peace,
We finish with Oseh Shalom. That is said immediately after the Amidah and asks G_d to make peace - Shalom - in our lives and in the entire world.

Oliver - Macharnik
Hi, my name is Oliver Hamby. I am looking forward to another great year. Last year I taught 4th grade Hebrew so I already know the majority of this 5th grade class. I am a sophomore at Centennial High School. There I am the captain of the soccer team, along with school soccer I am the captain of my club team. Along with soccer I am going on my 6th year of piano. I am looking forward to another fun year with some of the same students, and the new additions to the 5th grade class.
