A Parent's Perspective
When I sat down to write a little something about my thoughts on Penngrove I was immediately hit with the amount of pride and love I have for this school. The electric happiness that emanates from the staff, to the sweet, energetic, loving kids running... I mean walking ;) the halls. The generosity of the parents each year at our annual jogathon, to the wonderful moments and programs we are able to provide the kids throughout the year.
I can most easily describe this school as my family’s “happy place”. The kids feel safe and loved, and as a mom I know they are as such between the hours of 8 and 3. We, as parents, put many hours of thought into where our kids will go to elementary school. I am thankful everyday that I chose this magical place as my kids’ second home for 7 years of their childhood; and if you are new to Penngrove, I know you will too.
Thank you to all the parents for helping to make the magic and wonder at Penngrove, we appreciate you and can’t wait to spend another year working with you!

What's Happening at Penngrove?
Which Class is Winning the "Sweet" PTA Contest?! Joining the PTA is Sweet!
Our PTA membership drive is off to a great start. We already have over 120 members! Law/Sartori's class is currently in first place, Ciccotelli is in second, and Moreda and Weaver are tied for third. Remember, the class with the highest percentage of PTA members by Oct. 31 wins a class party!
PTA membership is just $10/adult and new this year, we are offering $5 student memberships. The student membership allows the student body to have a voice in what they would like to see on campus, especially since they work so hard to earn that money for our Jog-a-thon. There will be two student PTA meetings this school year run by Jamie Norman, PTA president, with an agenda specifically focused on what students think is important at the time. This is a great opportunity for the kids to be involved with the PTA! Please email Shannon Gilmore at fopptamem@gmail.com if you have any questions!

IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING THE Penngrove Press
In an effort to streamline communications this school year, the Penngrove Press is now the central location to find all school wide Panther information. The Penngrove Press newsletter will be emailed at least twice per month - you won't want to miss any of the publications!
In addition to a more frequent distribution, the newsletter will include PTA updates plus insight into the campus with articles by staff members and input from our students. Your child's teacher will continue to communicate as discussed at Back to School Night. Room Parents will no longer be responsible for forwarding PTA related messages.
To ensure you are receiving the latest news on campus, add the newsletter contact as a favorite in your email (amyfadeji@users.smore.com) and check your spam folder.
Here is the 4-1-1 on where you can get the 4-1-1:
1- Penngrove Press sent via email and always available on the school website: http://www.penngroveelementary.org/penngrove-press
2- Remind: Text @penngrove to 81010 to receive to receive text messages from Mrs. Fadeji.

AWESOME TURNOUT at the First PTA Meeting of the school year! Thanks for coming!
Our next meeting is 9/10/18 at 8:45am in the library.
Fundraising -- Most of the fundraising events you hear about throughout the school year raise money to send every sixth grader to camp in the spring. Learn more about camp here.
The Jogathon is our biggest school-wide fundraiser of the year. This event raises money for School Improvements and Classroom Discretionary Funds. It continues to fund Enrichment Programs such as the Garden & Environmental Education Program, Family Fun Nights, and social-emotional learning with Mr. Nettell. Currently, some of these funds are being used to build an Epic Lego Wall and a Gaga Pit, which has nothing to do with the Lady, and everything to do with our kids having a safe and awesome play space!
This year's Jogathon is set for Friday, September 7th.
Sponsor the event t-shirts & promote your business for $500.
Pledge envelopes will go home soon so please stay tuned for more about the Jogathon!
