This week we will explore the question "Who Lives in Trees?" We are going to brainstorm at the beginning of the week animals we know live in trees and again at the end of the week! We will do a sort to of animals to help decide who lives in trees also! Talk with your child about animals you see in trees this week! We will also talk about what kinds of homes animals make in trees.
We will read:
- Our Tree Named Steve by Alan Zweibel
- Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. and John Archambault
- The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstien
- The Grouchy Ladybug by Eric Carle
- Henny Penny by Bonnie Dobkin
Every day the children vote on a question that we graph. The vote questions this week are:
- Which animals do you like better?
- Which animal lives in a tree?
- Have you ever seen this in a tree?
- What tree home does this animal live in?
We will talk about the vocabulary words:
- Harmful
- Helpful
- Insist
- Suggested
- Cluster
- Distressed
The Librarian is coming to read to us on Tuesday October 6th! She will read books about trees!

PICTURE DAY!
Language Group October 5-9
We will make a choice of which container (basket, box, or can) to place our picture into and make a choice of which Shake A Leg! action to perform. We will work on understanding the prepositions "on", "in", and "under" and describe the location of objects using these words. We will begin to learn the actions and words to the nursery rhyme "Hickory, Dickory, Dock".
