Division of Elementary and Secondary Education: Reading Initiative for Student Excellence

Each month, the RISE Team produces a newsletter to explore and promote the Science of Reading in Arkansas. Our goal is to provide a resource that is targeted and helpful to parents. We cover topics such as read alouds, Scarborough's Rope, and oral language. After a parent friendly explanation, we offer lots of resources that parents will find helpful as they help their students on their reading journey.

The newsletter is on the RISE website on the 1st of every month. The link is always the same to make it easy to find and share. It can also be found by going to the RISE website and clicking RISE Newsletter in the left hand navigation bar.

We need your help getting this resource to our families in Arkansas. Here are some ways to help:

· Print this PDF and hang it in the teacher's lounge, hallways and other high traffic areas.

· Encourage your teachers to include the link or QR Code in their weekly newsletter.

· Print copies of previous newsletters and hand them out during parent literacy nights or have copies available in your parent resource center.

· Follow the ADE Facebook page with your school Facebook account. When the RISE Newsletter is shared through social media, reshare with your followers.

· Encourage teachers, parents and other staff members to sign up for monthly RISE Newsletter notifications.
