Sickness At School
We ask that you please continue to monitor your child's health at home before sending them to school. If your child has any of the following symptoms, please keep them home until all symptoms have cleared; running nose, continuous cough, stomach ache, headache, fever or sore throat. We also ask that you not give them medicine in the morning to mask any problems. As Covid cases throughout state continue, we will be sending students home who are showing signs of sickness. We also highly advise that you have a plan in place in case your child is sent home during the day due to cold/flu symptoms, as well as, a plan in place in case your child's classroom in quarantined due to a Covid-19 exposure.
Update Your Parent Portal
Especially now with Covid-19, it is very important to keep your parent portal and all parent information up-to-date. Recently, we have had to quarantine two classes at Baker Elementary. Parent notification from the district, from Baker Elementary, from the teacher and from the Allegan Health Department - comes from the information you have entered into the portal. We highly recommend that all families take a quick look at their parent portals and verify cell phone numbers, work numbers, email addresses and emergency contact information. We also advise that each family has a plan in place in case your child's class is quarantined and your child will need to stay home from school for a week to 14 days.

Pie In The Face
Distinguished Artist - Caden - From Mrs Brink's 1st Grade
Baker Elementary has a Distinguished Artist Program in which student artwork is on display like an art gallery for the school year. Each year 9 students are chosen as a Distinguished Artist. The distinguished artist is a student who is responsible in art, shows their creativity and works hard on all projects. Mrs. Spicer chooses 3 to 4 pieces of artwork in which the students followed directions and completed the project adding their creativity. A committee of staff members then votes on the projects to choose the winner.
