It's Almost Testing Time!
Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP)
Information
Fifth graders will take the Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP) the week of April 25th through the 29th. Please note that third through fifth graders will be completing the test during this week, and first and second graders will complete this assessment the following week (May 2nd-May 6th). "The Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP) is a rigorous assessment for high achieving students in areas such as reading, listening, vocabulary, writing, and mathematics. Verbal and quantitative reasoning subtests are part of the CTP beginning in Grade 3. The CTP helps compare content specific, curriculum-based performance to the more conceptual knowledge base found in reasoning tests" (https://www.erblearn.org/services/ctp-overview). Please see below for the fifth grade test schedule. Your child will get a break in between subtests on days when there are two tests scheduled.
Additional Information
- Students will take a practice test the week before their scheduled testing date to give them a chance to practice the testing format.
- The iPads will be locked down so that students can't accidentally click off of the testing program.
- Scratch paper will be provided for students if they need to work problems out on paper.
- If they skip questions the system will cycle back through those questions at the end of the test to allow students to complete them.
- The test is timed however, teachers will be monitoring and will prompt students if they get off track. In addition, the app itself will prompt them to complete questions and to move to the next question.
- If students have an IEP that requires additional time with tests, special accommodations will be made for testing. We will be contacting those families individually.
