Gr. 5 - 12 STUDENT-COMMUNITY SURVEY

February 21, 2022

Dear Lion Families,

Since the fall of this school year, the District entered into a two-year Strategic Planning Partnership with the Institute of Student Achievement (ISA). Since September, with the support of our consultants and our staff, the District has been engaging in a District-wide Needs Assessment.

In addition to this effort, the District also established an In-District Lindenwold Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee this year. This committee is made up of PK – 12 staff, administration, and LHS student representatives.

As part of this collective District work, we have developed an opportunity to gather and listen to our community, staff, and student voices through a District-wide Survey Process. The purpose of this effort is to gather important information from the stakeholders we serve in order to better meet our community needs. The collected information will help the District to make the best strategic decisions moving forward.

Our surveys will be offered in two formats: English and Spanish.

The questions will focus on:

1. The perception of our District and the educational opportunities offered

2. The satisfaction level of our students, staff, and community

3. And an inquiry into the perception of our school climate and classroom teaching / district efforts that supports Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

The District plans to begin this process by administering a student survey during the school day to all students in grades 5 -12. The questions have been reviewed by designated staff, administration, and our DEI Committee Members – including our student representatives.

As students begin the survey, the following statement will be read to all of our students in grades 5 - 12:

Please fill out the following survey about your experiences in Lindenwold schools. Your Superintendent will use the results of this survey and others like it to make decisions about the future of the school district. Please be honest in your answers to these questions.

All information collected in this survey will be kept anonymous. Your name will not be linked to your answers and your name will never appear in the results of the survey. Your teachers and principal will not know how you respond to any questions. If there are any questions that you do not feel comfortable answering, you may skip those questions.

The District is dedicated to continued learning and growth. We want to always strive to provide the best possible educational system designed to meet our community needs and expectations. We are STRONGLY encouraging all PK - 12 families, students (grades 5 – 12) and PK - 12 staff to honestly and openly participate in this survey process. All information will be anonymous and analyzed by a third party – the Institute of Student Achievement (ISA). All collected information will help our District to goal set and strategically plan for the next 3 school years (2022 – 2025).

If you wish for your child not to participate in the survey, please contact your child's Principal via email by February 28, 2022. The survey will be administered during the school day from 2/28/22 – 3/8/22.
