Fulton Focus

For the parents and patrons of the Fulton School District

August 17, 2018

A message from the Superintendent

Dear Parents and Patrons,

Thank you for supporting Fulton kids with the passage of Proposition K. Resources are immediately being allocated to support students and teachers. As the current Mental Health Grant funding ceases prior to November, we will have funds to continue proactive mental health activities in all buildings. Again, your support is very much appreciated.

District-wide, Wednesday’s school start was very positive.

We appreciate each of you completing on-line enrollment prior to the actual start day. This revised process ensures we have all contact information and other documents in place for your student(s) safety. In addition, the process also ensures Fulton taxpayers are not supporting students residing in adjoining districts who are attempting to attend Fulton Schools. In kindergarten through twelfth grade, 2,304 students were registered on the first day of classes reflecting an increase of 196 students on the first day of last year. In addition, approximately 92 students are expected in various aspects of the preschool program.

Encourage your student(s) to value their education, attend regularly, and complete academic work. Parents and family are a significant influence for future success. Please join us to create high expectations and academic success for your student(s).

Thank you for sending great kids to work with. We are anticipating a GREAT, POSITIVE school year.

Sincerely,

Jacque A. Cowherd, Ed.D.

Superintendent

Proposition K

Fulton Public Schools would like to sincerely THANK the voters for approving Proposition K, #forOURkids! 52% of the money will go toward direct student services including mental health and 48% of the money will go toward staff salaries which directly impact students.

Again, a HUGE thank you!

New MSHSAA Heat Rules

The Missouri State High School Athletics Association has implemented new rules regarding practice and/or competing in official contests when the heat conditions exceed certain levels. Many factors go into these levels including the ambient temperature, humidity, and environmental conditions, for example, the wind.

Please be aware that if the levels are equal to or exceed the cut-off, practice times and game start times may be delayed until it is safe for your student(s).
