"This is OUR Day"
Flanagan-Cornell High School Student Council Presents
SAVE THE DATE - Monday, February 24!!
This year's Prairie 8 Spring Retreat will have the Olympics theme, specifically centered around one of the Olympic theme songs, "My Day," by Danielle Bradbery. Instead of saying, 'My Day', we are changing it to 'OUR' day! We know Student Council is a team and not centered around an individual. The day will be packed with opening ceremonies, team challenges, a keynote motivation speaker, local speakers for breakout sessions, lunch, and closing ceremonies. Our goal is for your Student Council to leave the retreat energized, enthusiastic, and excited about new ideas and possibilities for upcoming years!! Our keynote speaker this year is Justin Boundreau from San Diego.
The following paragraph is from his website:
Justin Boudreau known by students as the “Dude Who Changed My Life” is ready to bring awareness to your “community”. His insightful “There YOU Are” vision and his expertise in HUM-ERGY (Humor & Energy) will empower your students to step up and stand out.
A link is provided below to view additional information about Justin. A few of us have seen him a couple years ago. He is wonderful!! We are very excited that he can attend this event!
More information will be coming soon. In order for us to finish planning the event, we need to know if you are attending by Thursday, January 30. Email Betsy Mehlberg at bmehlberg@fc74.org with the name of your school and the number of 'teammates' you are bringing! The charge is $15 per student. No charge for sponsors. We are trying to keep the cost down to allow for as many students to participate as possible! We will be asking for more specific information once it gets closer to the event.
Be sure to read the rest of the details, and check out the official theme song! We encourage you to show your students, too!!! We look forward to hearing from you!!
