Monday Memo
March 25, 2019
Great things!
I hope you each had a restfull and relaxing spring break doing whatever makes you happy. Let's get ready to greet our kids with a smile and enthusiasm just as we did on the first day of school. They deserve it!
Wanted to send out the numbers from Messy Night just before break: 106 children, and 90 parents attended according to the sign-in sheets. Again- great job staff! Such a fun night for our students and families.
Challenge: Take a minute to get down on your students' level, make eye contact, be playful, talk to them, and smile. Coming back from a break can be hard, so let's ease them back in and make them feel safe. Give a little extra love this week.
Dates to remember:
Mar 25: P.M. Fire Drill only 2:45 p.m.
April 3: Faculty meeting
April 3: PLC/PD
April 8: Bus evac drills
Nuts-n-Bolts:
* The announcements for the week are loaded into the shared file. Shandi's a.m. class is featured this week
*If you use the heaters in the library while your class is there, please remember to turn the heaters off and unplug them when you are ready to leave. These have been found left on over night, etc.
*Continue to read chapter 4 in your Mindset book (of course you can read beyond that at any time)
* March library book shelving duty: Connie
Marvelous Mondays In March!!
Welcome back on this Marvelous Monday!
Speech/Language Tip of the Week:
Make an effort to work on 2-step directions. Look at the abilities of each child to see if it would be better to work on related directions or unrelated directions. For related directions, make sure the directions go together (Get the red crayon and put it on the table. Get your coat and line up.). For unrelated directions, the directions should not go together (Touch your head then turn around. Turn in a circle and then go touch the door.) For kids that have a difficult time waiting to hear all directions before starting, hold their hands in yours and don’t let go until all directions are given.
