What is Ice cross?
Ice cross is a downhill course made with ice and people have to race down the ice full of turns and drops, to try and win a race.
What are the rules of ice cross?
Only 2 of the 4 people in the race make it on the next round. There are individual races and also team races.
History of Ice cross
Single event ice cross started in 2001, and Jasper Felder from Sweden has won most of those single event ice cross championships with 7 first place wins.
Canada
One of the three countries that dominate in ice cross, with 3 single ice cross championships from 2001-2009. The winner of those 3 championships are Gabriel Andre with 1 championship and Kevin Olson with 2 championships.
Sweden
The most dominant country in ice cross Sweden won more than 7 single ice cross championships. Ice cross also originated in Sweden.
Finland
In the years 2001-2009 Finland was one of the most dominant ice cross countries along with Canada and Sweden, with 3 single ice cross championships. Miika Jouhkimainem with 1 championship, and Arttu Pihlainen with 2 of the championships.
