Junior Beta Club Winter Project
The Junior Beta Club’s Winter project was to collect toys, blankets, etc. for local animal shelters. This idea was proposed by 4th grader Emily Canady because this is something that she does every year. Emily collected $285 from neighbors and friends who also donated 20 toys plus a case of dog food. Emily also worked together with Kong to get access to their discounted toys to purchase and donate. She alone donated over $400 worth of toys to the Charleston Animal Society, more than 100 toys altogether. Other club members also contributed several blankets, food items, and toys to the shelters in their areas. All the shelters were very appreciative.
