Principal's Message

Davis Students & Families,

We are excited to begin our second semester of the year. We held grade-level award assemblies earlier this week, and it was wonderful to see all of the returning students. Hopefully your family's winter breaks were enjoyable!

Big shout out to 9th and 10th grade students. We recently received our PSAT results back from the October administration. The 10th grade showed significant improvement from their 9th grade scores. In fact, their improvement led the district, surpassing just about every other high school in our network. Way to go!! The 9th grade average scores were the highest in our school's history. This indicates a strong academic mindset. We are so excited about this!

Our students use IXL as an online tool for practicing math and ELA content. As 9th and 10th graders prepare for the Algebra 1 and ELA OSTs this April, they will continue with this tool. Please encourage your children to complete IXL at home. This is a great way for them to push themselves, and they all know how to log in and do it. If you are curious about IXL, please reach out to your child's teacher.

If you have questions about any of the announcements below, please call the school at 216.838.2500

Updates from Ms. Tierra

Happy New Year and welcome back!!! I hope you enjoyed your break.

One semester down, and one to go. Let's get it started.

Expectations revolve around: Being Professional, Being Prepared, and Being Engaged

Be Professional:

  • Students have 3 minutes in between transition to get to class on time.
  • Three tardies in a week will result in a detention.
  • I will come around sporadically to give PBIS points to students that are "Being Professional" with being to class on time, dressed appropriately and using proper language.

Be Prepared

  • Laptops must be charged & present in class.
  • Cell phones and other devices are not permitted to be used in class unless communicated from the teacher.
  • I will come to classes and give incentives for "Being Prepared" in addition to giving PBIS points when I see you prepared with your laptop completing classwork on the device and cell phones & other devices are placed in your personal bag.

Be Engaged

  • Class participation and tracking the speaker is essential to you learning while in the class.
  • When I come by and see you "Being Engaged", I will provide PBIS points.

Each week students receive PBIS points for completing the 3 expectations: Being Professional, Being Prepared and Be Engaged. Students will be placed in a drawing to receive lunch at the end of the month. 10 students will be selected.

Lastly, only students that have a elevator pass are permitted to use the elevator. If you do not have a elevator pass and you are on the elevator corrective action will be taken. Let's make sure we are keeping the elevator clear for students that must utilize it and all staff.
