St. Stanislaus STAR

May 4 , 2016

Welcome to the beautiful month of May, a time to celebrate! We celebrate Mary, Our Mother this month. On Friday, May 6, the school will celebrate this special month by having a May Crowning after the 7:50 a.m. Mass. All are welcome to come to attend. The week began with a brief prayer service in the gym to honor Our Mother. Throughout the month children will be praying the rosary with their class.

Happy Mother’s Day to all our moms out there. Today the kindergarten class celebrated mothers in a special way at mass and then in the classroom. It was wonderful to see so many mothers take the time to come to school for this event. What a message that sends to children about a mom’s love for her child. Thank you, Mrs.Pleus and Ms. Lock, for honoring these mothers.

Sixth Grade students are celebrating Vocations Day at the Cathedral parish today. Our sixth grade class joins with sixth grade students from all over the diocese for events that help them understand God’s calling in the area of vocations.

DARE graduation for the 6th grade class will be held next Tuesday, May 10 at 8:30 in the gym.

Next Friday, May 6, the school will celebrate First Friday. An assembly is planned at 1:30 p.m. The eighth grade will be presenting “Pop Culture and the Last 100 Years”. The Singing Staff are working on a song to present as well. It is sure to be an interesting event. All are invited to attend.

Dates for the 2016-2017 school year can now be found on our school’s website under the calendars tab/monthly calendar or the scrolling calendar on the right.

As the last weeks of school bring us closer to the end of the school year, let us all continue to celebrate the many gifts and graces God has bestowed on us this year.

May God continue to bless us!

The school is in receipt of two checks

From Box Tops for Education $261 and from Funding Factory $250 which recycles our cartridges. Please continue saving your used printer cartridges over the summer. Since starting to recycle these in 2004, we’ve earned $7500 for the school. It is amazing how these little things add up for our school. Thanks for recycling and saving labels.

The school will be in need of a volunteer to replace Lori Brenneke. She says "It is a very simple job - and can explain it to anyone who might be interested". Thank you Lori !

Oscar's FUN'raiser Update

Thank you, thank you, thank you, St Stan families! Your support of our Oscar's Day was AWESOME, and because of that, we were able to raise $900 for our school! We truly appreciate the time and effort you put into making our Oscar's FUN'raiser a success!

Field day is one of the most fun, memorable traditions of St Stanislaus School! Would you like to volunteer your time to be a part of it? We are looking for a few more parents to join our field day fun! Field day is on Wednesday, May 18 from 12-2:30. We have several fun activities in store for the kiddos! Please call or text Lori Lopez at 291-5531 if you'd like to join us!
