Important Information
Winter Weather Information:
- Bethel District encompasses 202 square miles. Road conditions are often very different from one area of the district to another. Roads could be impassable in one part of the district and completely clear and passable in another.
- Leaders from the transportation department are driving roads throughout the district by 2:30 am on the days when the weather forecasts snow or ice.
- When a two-hour late start is called, staff need to make a reasonable effort to get to work on time. Employees are not encouraged to take unreasonable risks and supervisors have the authority to accommodate individual situations by revising work schedules and allowing make-up time.
- If we have a snow day(s) the day(s) will be made up on May 22 and then as additional days added to the end of the year
COUGAR PRIDE TICKET FOCUS FOR THE WEEK:
*** Being Actively Engaged In Lesson/Activities*** (Continues as weather is pending)
STAR-
It is time to STAR winter benchmark test! The testing window closes on January 24th, so ALL students need to be tested prior to that date. Please make sure that students take this test seriously. This is our most valuable data point at this point in the year, and it's very important that we show growth and have data that is a true reflection of our students' proficiency levels.
All ELA classes should STAR reading test ALL students between January 9-January 16
All MATH classes should STAR math test ALL students between January 17-January 24
Do not wait until the last day to test, please allow time for make ups within your subject's window!
IABs-
Here are the links to MATH IAB PLAN and ELA IAB PLAN current plan for the use of IABs/FIAB (focused interim assessment blocks). Make sure these accurately reflect how your grade level is using the assessments. Please remember that using the IABs is an incredibly valuable way to prepare students for this assessment. These can be used as assessments or they can be woven into your instruction in a variety of ways including Pear Deck, Google Forms, etc. Please review the document, and update as needed. Remember, if you use them as an assessment to please have someone from your team enter the information for the Assessment Office to process the data for homeroom. Here is the IAB COMPLETION NOTIFICATION FORM.
PHONE NUMBERS CHANGING:
All Bethel phone numbers are changing prefixes. We will no longer be 683. We will now be 800.The majority of staff will retain their same last four digits. For example, 253-683-8000 will become 253-800-8000. From now until April 1, 2020, both our old and new numbers will work. Please use that time to update your number where you need to (emergency contacts, websites, business cards, voice mail, etc.)
