CREW NEWS
Family Marathon
Our OCE Family Marathon is here!
Tracks 2 and 4 will be finishing their last 1.2 miles on Monday, November 5th (rain date is Friday, November 9th).
Tracks 1 and 3 will run on Wednesday, November 14th (rain date is Thursday, November 15th).
We will meet in the gym at 2:00 p.m. where the students will warm up and listen for instructions. Around 2:30 p.m. we will go outside to jog/run our last mile.
Please feel free to cheer or run with your child. And congratulations to all on such a wonderful accomplishment!
Walk to School Wednesday
Walk to School Wednesday is THIS Wednesday, November 7th!
For both the November and December walk to school events, we will be collecting donations for the Western Wake Crisis Ministry. Please bring toilet paper or boxed macaroni and cheese to help stock their food bank!
Finally, please send photos of your children walking to school to oce.communications@gmail.com to be included in a future issue of the Beacon!
Fitness Photo Fun!
During the next several weeks we will practice Physical Fitness and its components
(cardio, strength, muscle endurance and flexibility) in PE and learn all about why it is so
important to stay physically fit.
Please send in a favorite photo of your student being physically active. They can bring it with them to PE class. We will place them on the PE bulletin board to see what the students at OCE are doing to stay fit.
Thank you! ~ Coach Roberts
Crayola Color Cycle Program
Don't forget to drop off your used markers, highlighters, and dry erase markers in the ColorCycle donation drop boxes at school before November 30th.
The Crayola ColorCycle program repurposes used markers rather than sending them to landfills.
Students and teachers all around OCE will be collecting used markers that are ready to be discarded. Please help support our efforts by sending in any used markers you may have around the house -- even non-Crayola brands! Highlighters and dry erase markers can also be included.
LEGO Club
LEGO club is a staff led BEFORE-school club for K, 1st and 2nd grade students only.
LEGO Club focuses on inspiring children to think creatively, reason systematically, and use their imagination to play. LEGO Club will take place on Wednesday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in the library starting January 2nd. Students must be dropped off promptly at 8:00 a.m.
PLEASE REGISTER EACH CHILD INDIVIDUALLY. If you are interested, please fill out this registration form. There will be a $5 registration fee. You can send the fee into your child's teacher with your child's name on it. Make checks payable to OCE PTA or use this link for online payment.
REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE NOV. 9TH.
If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Brittany Cabaleiro (2nd grade Track 1) at bcabaleiro@wcpss.net.
