Attendance Information

Attendance continues to be a top priority for Lovejoy ISD. It should come as no surprise that attendance has a direct relationship with student learning. Additionally, public school funding is provided by the State of Texas based on each district's average daily attendance (ADA).

Lovejoy has developed an Attendance Task Force consisting of staff, parents, and students to formulate ideas about how to positively impact ADA in our district. One suggestion is to update the community via weekly principal communication on the number of absences each campus has accrued YTD along with the budgetary impact of those absences. This information can be found below:

5th Grade Camp-Sky Ranch-2023-***UPDATED THIS WEEK***

5th Grade Camp!

We are getting excited because camp is less than three weeks away! On Friday, January 20th your child will receive a sheet with their cabin assignments. Teachers have worked very hard to ensure every child has at least one friend from their request list. Due to the complexity of the groupings, we will not make any changes to the cabin lists. The students on the list with an * at the end of their name have a parent attending camp as a chaperone. At the bottom of the sheet it will show if you have prepaid for the zipline and if your child is riding home on the bus or with a parent. The link to prepay for the zipline and the alternate transportation release form links are below if you need to complete them. Both are due January 31st. Students can bring exact cash of $6 to pay for the zipline at camp as well. Please read very carefully over the parent packet and packing list. There will be a store where students can buy snacks and gifts if you would like to send cash with them.

Chaperone phone calls - One of the chaperones will give you a call prior to camp if your child is not attending with a parent. Please be prepared to give them any information that you are willing to share that will help to make your child's time at camp a success. Give background on your child and their needs, allergies, behavior challenges, if they take medication, need additional help or services, what are their interests, are they good sleepers, are there any concerns about them sleeping, or anything else that would be helpful. As a reminder, students are not allowed to bring any electronic devices to camp. They can bring games or books to have during free time.

As a gentle reminder, please follow the school arrival and dismissal routes.

It’s imperative that we follow the routes in order to have a safe and rapid arrival/dismissal. Please follow any directives from the arrival or dismissal team.

 Mornings will start to get a little crowded as construction on Country Club has started.

 Cell phone use is prohibited in a school zone. Please do not be a distracted driver.

 Do not use the bus lane if busses are loading/unloading.

 Please use the dismissal line unless you are picking a student up early or have a meeting. If you are picking a student up or have a meeting, please park in the parking lot.

 Dismissal time - if your student is not in your vehicle when the line

starts to move. Please park in the parking lot to wait for your

student.
