Welcome to Our House "Where Character Matters"
Dear Botsford Families,
This Friday our Bobcats met in dens to learn about perseverance, creativity and positive self talk. Our students met a little girl and her canine friend in the story titled "The Most Magnificent Thing".
Students learned how to choose a strategy that will allow then to overcome barriers that might get in the way of their goals. In our story the young girl was faced with lots of challenges. She felt anger and frustration when her ideas were not working. The little girl learned the power of trying again, taking a walk to cool down and then starting over. She discovered the importance of listening to her positive self talk "T can do this!" rather than her negative self talk "I give up!". What a great life lesson for us all!
The song "Try Everything" from the movie Zootopia ties our den lesson together perfectly. Listen to the inspirational lyrics.

Why do Passion Projects ?
Our students will never forget what it felt like to create!
When a child creates a product or a project, it becomes part of who they are, and there is a “care” involved that we just never see with multiple-choice tests. What would you want for your child?
Experiential and challenge-based learning puts the mastery back into the student’s hands. The Botsford staff will provide guidance and gentle pushes along the way, but our Bobcats will be the ones “doing” and “making”. Confucius put it perfectly: “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.”
Passion Projects let our students make. From this learning opportunity they will understand and thank all of us! Stay tuned for more information...
