2nd Posting: iREAD Is Almost Here!

Message from Helen Weiss:

iREAD will be starting soon after Winter Break and will take place starting January 11th through February 5th.

iREAD Kick-Off

Please join us at the Highland Park Public Library for the annual iREAD Kick-Off on January 11th from 9:00-2:00. There will be authors, a storyteller/juggler and teachers from all district schools reading to students.

iREAD Theme

Our students voted for an iREAD theme this year and the winning theme is a Sports Theme: "Get in the Game...Read For iREAD!"

We will be kicking off iREAD at Sherwood on Monday, January 13th with Sports Day. Students and staff can wear their favorite sports team shirts or colors.

Wednesday Wake Up & Read:

Join Mrs. Weiss in the IMC at 8:00 on Wednesdays during iREAD for Wake Up & Read on 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, and 2/5. Students are invited to get cozy by our "fireplace" or read by flashlight and may count those minutes on their iREAD logs. We will also offer reading in the library during recess throughout iREAD.

Stay tuned for more iREAD info! iREAD packets will be sent home with students on Thursday, January 9th.

2nd Posting: Sherwood Gift Drive Update - Thank You!

Thank you to the Sherwood School community for supporting families in need this holiday season! Through the generosity of our parents, students and staff in terms of donations, time, and effort, we sponsored 22 children for the Moraine Township Holiday Gift Drive! In addition, we donated $200 in gift cards to Target and Jewel to be distributed to families in need. Thank you for your wonderful acts of kindness so that all of our families can enjoy the holiday season!
