Join the Kindness Challenge!
Dear Colleague:
In today’s world, one of the best things we can do for our school and students is to teach, foster, and celebrate kindness. Kindness has been proven to support student achievement, better school climate, and reduce discipline issues.
That’s why our school is participating in the Middle School Kindness Challenge.
By accepting the Challenge, we will become part of a new and growing movement of educators, students, and concerned citizens everywhere who are making kindness commonplace for every student in America.
Please take a moment now to sign up for our school’s Challenge: https://program.kindnesschallenge.com/s/login/SelfRegister?school=vOj5EwQhM/l9y6lkulbDHd3flUemPLnjUBDDEqHmWFg=.
To meet the Challenge, we need at least 50% of our school’s teachers and specialized instructional support personnel (e.g. counselors and social workers) to participate. We need you!
Thank you for signing up. You will be receiving more details on our Challenge soon!
Yours kindly,
Your Kindness Captain Team

Challenge Day
Aligned with our focus of supporting Social and Emotional Learning, the Smithtown Central School District is excited to be bringing Challenge Day, a world renowned program, to all of our current 7th grade students.
The goal of the Challenge Day Program is to build community, promote acceptance, and embrace positive peer support for all of our stakeholders.
Additional information will be posted on the district webpage.
Family Connect Nights
Good morning. As discussed at the Faculty Meeting, starting in January, we will participate in "Family Connect Night" once a month. On the nights listed below, please do not assign homework or schedule a test for the following day. Hopefully, AMS parents will use this opportunity to connect with their children during the time typically reserved for homework.
Family Connect Nights: February 13, March 22, April 17, & May 23.
