HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 2 Week 4 Friday 20 May
FROM MARK
Last Friday’s Year Two class mass was very lovely, with Father Tom making our children, parents, grandparents and teachers especially welcome. It has been a long time since we have attended mass in Church because of the restrictions, and it is so good to be back. The opportunity in these masses to join with the regular mass goers, is quite special. Our children were just lovely to be with. Father joined us for coffee after mass, which too was very pleasant - many thanks indeed to Carli Woolfrey who organised morning tea. The mantra in our parish, is ‘Welcome’. Please join in when you see class masses indicated. They start at 9am, take around 20 minutes and end with coffee - a lovely start to the day!
This weekend, our Year Six children who are making their Confirmation on May 28, will be attending a commitment mass. Today they participated in a day of reflection, with some input from the Very Reverend Father Vincent Glynn, Episcopal Vicar for Education and Faith Formation. We thank Father Vincent very much for his contribution to the faith life of each of our children.
Thank you to everyone who was involved in the SAC and/or P&F meetings on Tuesday. Our community really appreciates your commitment.
The test kits have been walking out the door. Thank you for collecting them and signing off. As you know, if there is a change to the rules that apply to schools we will be in touch.
Have a great weekend!

Covid conversation continued
Rat tests - a reminder about what was sent via Seqta last week:
While WA Health says children of primary school age still are not permitted to collect tests, you are now welcome to collect twenty Rat tests per child at Holy Rosary. There is no need to wait until they are unwell or a close contact. As we can’t send them home to you, we are trying to make the collection process as easy as possible:
Main collection point - the table in front of Admin
Other collection points - Pre-Kindy, Kindy and Preprimary
We are expected to keep records of distribution. Please sign next to your child’s name. If collecting for more than one child please note the total number of tests you have collected, next to the name of one of your children. This will save you having to sign off next to each name.
And, of course, if children want to wear masks at school they are welcome to do so. Most of our staff continue to wear them.

After the excitement of Book Fair, we have launched straight into the election and the students have agreed that they would make a great Prime Minister, just like the children in “If I Was Prime Minister”. Next week is National Simultaneous Storytime and we have also started the conversation about National Sorry Day. Book Fair orders will be delivered as soon as they arrive – thank you again for all your support of the Fair. Have a lovely weekend.
