JILL HARPER-KSE
I am so excited and honored to be asked by Aimee Davidson Weathers in the School of Education at JSU to partner in providing her students with an authentic look into teaching. Today was our first lesson in math. Later this month, we will do a STEAM lesson, and then have a live, interactive Q&A session with our classes. I can’t wait to continue collaborating and having a small part in impacting future educators.

CHARACTER DAY AT JHS
Second Year Eagle Med Students
Coach Patterson's second-year EAGLE MED students (health science pathway/Therapeutic Services class) are making presentations of their disease and disorder notebooks this week. The purpose of the disease and disorders notebook is to allow students the freedom of independent study and help develop their research skills. This is the first installment of four installments they will complete this year. Students researched 10 different diseases/disorders following a strict rubric guideline. Then they presented their findings to the class. This is similar to a peer review that medical students go through during their residence. This gives the student the ability to research, compose findings and defend those to their peers. These skills along with working on their soft skills are important for workforce development. This experience allows them the chance to work on professionalism and public speaking, which are used in healthcare careers. If you or any students have any questions about our program or would like to join HOSA / EAGLE MED, please contact Coach Pat or email him. (Lpatterson@jcsboe.org)
FFA ANNUAL FRUIT SALE- LIPSCOMB -WHALEY
It's that time again folks. Jacksonville High School FFA is now taking orders for our annual fruit sale. We have added cookie dough in 2.5 pound tubs to this years form. Please message me if you would like to place an order. Thanks in advance.
JHS nurses, Brandy Morrow and Debra Martin work very diligently to make sure students who need any type of medical attention are well taken care of.
They are super busy every day monitoring students' various health conditions and updating their records. Nurse Martin also works with Special Education classes throughout the day. Nurse Morrow teaches CPR, Diabetes, and Medication Assistant classes for faculty and staff, sets up hearing, vision and scoliosis screenings, as well as flu clinics for KSE and JHS students, employees, and their families. There is still so much that we do not see: the completion of various reports, health assessment records, auditing of immunization records, etc. We are very thankful for all these ladies do to help keep us healthy and safe!
