Happy New Year!
Hello Blair Families!
I apologize, but this newsletter never went out to our families and students, so I am resending with some updated information. I want to thank everyone for the support over the past week, and of course the happy birthday wishes. I ruptured my achilles playing basketball over break and had surgery last week, and that is how I spent my birthday. It was a great day considering... I continue to be reminded why the staff, families, and students are so amazing. I hope all principals can feel the love and support I received over the past week. I will be out for about a month and may not respond to email as quickly as normal. In the meantime, contact the main office if you need immediate assistance, they will be able to help you out. We have amazing Assistant Principals, Deans, and leadership that will continue to do everything in my absence.
Message from last week:
I am excited to welcome in another new year with all of you. I hope you all had time to rest, relax, and have a little fun! The new year is always a great time to reflect and set goals, whether it be a resolution, new word for the year, or continued focus on something important to you.
Some of you may have noticed the hashtag #SeeGreen. The word has meaning to all of this year as we continue to work to meet the needs of all students. First, Green is one of the colors for Blair and represents our Clipper Pride. Green is also the color of balance, it is associated with good health and well-being, and can evoke feelings of freshness and life through nature. We also know that green is the color we strive for as we continue to work towards full accreditation. How will you #SeeGreen this year? As I continue to review our data, talk with staff, students, and families, and walk the building, there is no doubt that we have the best staff members, students, families, and community!
If there is anything you need, please reach out to me!
Regards,
Dr. Doyle
Champion of Students
Congratulations to Mrs. Ragland for receiving the Champion of Students belt for the month of January! Mr. Redmond was eager to pass the belt along to Mrs. Ragland and had these wonderful remarks.
“Mrs. Ragland is a true Champion for Students because she goes above and beyond to serve the students and families of Blair Middle. She fosters meaningful relationships that allow her to provide holistic care, support, and accountability for her students. Thank you for being a difference-maker in students' lives, Mrs. Ragland.”
Each month we recognize a champion for students. A champion for students is someone that advocates for all students. They actively support and promote the best interests of students, ensuring they have access to the best possible education.
Blair's Best
Mrs. Tabron is an absolute, consummate professional at every turn. She is always very clam, patient, and polite. She always includes the concerns and availability of the teachers when scheduling PTC conferences and impending schedule changes. Mrs. Tabron is a very valuable asset to our Blair Family. I love you and appreciate you Mrs. Tabron!!! (Staff Submission)
MR. GOODHOPE
Mr. Goodhope is such an asset to our school. He is a creative and talented teacher, and he is invaluable on duty in the cafeteria. We are lucky to have him! (Staff Submission)
MS. BASS
Ms. Bass has been a huge help this year. She is so kind and patient. She has been very informative and willing to work with you and her students and it’s a blessing. Having children that require special education services can be very hard and it’s so reassuring to know she is there and has my daughter’s back. (Parent Submission)

Students of the Week
Join a club!
We are pleased to announce our variety of clubs and grateful for the staff members that are sponsoring these clubs for our students. Activities offered by clubs enable students to learn valuable skills and many of the activities offered by clubs help students to extend and elaborate on the more formal knowledge learned in school.
Times and dates will be shared with you after you sign up by the club sponsor. If you have any questions, please contact the club sponsor. Most clubs will start soon. Clubs that meet in person will be held on Tuesday or Thursday because we can provide bus transportation (5:07 departure) for students that meet the requirements; club sponsor will let you know if the clubs meets on a different day. A form will be sent home to students when clubs start that give permission for students to stay after school. Students must use this form and sign a permission form to stay back.
You must use your NPS email account to sign in and sign up for a club.
