Sand Ridge "Shark Bites" Update
January 23, 2022 - Issue #18
Good Afternoon Shark Families,
I hope that everyone enjoyed the extra "Weather Day" off from school and that everyone stayed safe and warm. We are very excited to get back to the business of teaching and learning on a regular schedule this week.
The Covid surge in our area has lead us to the difficult decision to cancel Super Bowl Soup Night. This is the second year in a row we have had to cancel and we are sad to miss out on this Sand Ridge tradition. Hopes are high and recipes tucked away for next year's event!
The district Covid information is shared below. Please know that this is the "current" guidelines and that they do change based upon what is provided from the state. Our nurse, Mrs. Lisa, has been doing an amazing job of keeping up with everything this year and she is always providing the most recent guidance we have. If you ever have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to her. Additionally, it is worth noting that we have also begun to see the flu in our area as well.
The PTO Meeting scheduled for Monday evening is still on. They are in need of people to fill vacated positions on the board. We will practice social distancing and anyone is attendance will be asked to wear a mask or stay a minimum of 6 feet from anyone else in attendance. I hope that you will consider helping out our PTO. They have a lot of great ideas for this year and want to do great things for our teachers and students!
Hoping you all have a wonderful week and looking forward to a very "normal" week at SRE!
Denise Gartner
Principal
Soup Night Canceled
Due to the continued high numbers of Covid in our area, along with the self-serve nature of the evening, the Super Bowl Soup Night scheduled for January 31st has been canceled. We look forward to next year and hope that we will be able to bring back this fabulous Sand Ridge tradition!
News From the PTO
The PTO is looking for a new Vice-President and Treasurer to join our board. We will be taking nominations and holding an election at our January 25th meeting. Please join us!
