The Founding of The Colony
The Delaware colony was originally founded in 1638 by Peter Minuit for Sweden but was later taken under British control. The Swedish founded it for trade and profits, which is also the reason the British took it.

Geography and Climate
Located in the middle region of the colonies, Delaware had a overall mild climate with warm summers and mild winters that were suitable for farming. As for geography, the area around the southern border was swampland while most other areas were flat lowlands.

Economical Resources
Valuable resources found in the Delaware Colony include good farmland, timber, furs and coal. Iron ore, if found, was considered to be especially valuable.
