Pictures from our Pollinator Garden, 2018-19 Legacy Gift
Dear Tatem Families:
There has been a flurry of activity at Tatem in recent days! The front property now boasts beautiful new sod, shrubbery, and mulch, softening the look of our building. Thanks to the efforts of Maudi Silver-Mallemat over the summer, our Pollinator Garden is well-tended and thriving with plant and insect life! The new playground out back has been opened for public use, and the temporary fencing was removed. It will take some time for the seed to germinate and grass to grow around that area, so please keep to the paved walkways when visiting. There will be a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, September 5th at 6 PM (More information below).
Inside the building, Alicia Roper and Jen Coelho have once again come through with an outstanding bulletin board in our main hallway near the office. I don't know how these two ladies come up with such creative ideas month after month! We appreciate your work, and look forward to seeing our students make 'connections'! And, of course, our teachers have been working their magic in their classrooms for the past few weeks, too. They are READY!
Special thanks to the Super family, the Mazzei family, and the Visconti family for assisting in the distribution of school supply kits this year. They brought an entire crew of helpers and the job was done quickly.
We also want to thank Kim Knapp of Sign Gypsies Haddonfield (Signgypsies.com) for welcoming our teachers back in style. The sign was a big a hit in every sense of the word! Our teachers were so touched by this gesture. In addition, everyone truly appreciated the yogurt bar, sponsored by our Tatem PTA on their first day back. Thank you Cheryl Tarditi, Lindsey Watson McCarthy, and Stephanie Visconti. We are so fortunate to have such support.
I hope that you're noticing a theme here. . . The Tatem School Community consists of not only those who work here, but the families and community members in the surrounding area as well! Our school would not be what it is without the collaboration and support of all stakeholders. It is what makes Tatem such a wonderful, inclusive, neighborhood school for our children! On that note, I encourage all families to join our PTA this year -- we need you! (See additional information below about how to join the PTA, and sign up for their communications through their Member Hub.)
Enjoy this last weekend of summer with family and friends! On Tuesday, September 3rd, we will enthusiastically welcome our students back to school with warm smiles and open arms! We missed having our halls and classrooms bustling with students and filled with laughter, and we can't wait to see everyone again.
I hope you all have a safe, fun Labor Day weekend as we say a final farewell to summer and welcome a brand new school year!
Valerie Cline
