Handbook Highlight: Bus Conduct
Riding the school bus is a privilege, not a right. The school district's general student behavior rules are in effect for all students on school buses, including nonpublic and charter school students. The school district will not provide transportation for students whose transportation privileges have been revoked. The school district is committed to transporting students in a safe and orderly manner. To accomplish this, student riders are expected to follow school district rules for waiting at a school bus stop and rules for riding on a school bus.
Students who have the opportunity to ride the school buses may do so as long as they display behavior that is reasonable and safe. Since the bus driver is responsible for the safety and discipline of students on the bus, choosing to follow unacceptable behavior will result in loss of bus service. A suspension notice is applied to all busses unless otherwise designated by bus officials. The responsibility for student supervision by ISD # 2310 shall begin when the student is waiting for, and boards the bus in the morning, and is retained until the student leaves the bus at the end of the day; or until released to the parent/guardian in a manner consistent with guidelines on release of students.
