School Newsletter - 3 November 2022
Endeavour School - 3 November, 2022
Principal's Message
Since out last newsletter we have had the pleasure of a few more sunshine hours offered to us and I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing our children make the most of having a dry field and dry turf to play on. Having the chance to be outside and simply play improves the wellbeing of all.
Part of this play has been team orientated sports. I love watching and being involved in children playing and learning through sport. Currently we are being spoilt for choice with the T20 Cricket World Cup, Women's Rugby World Cup, Rugby League Wold Cup, All Blacks Tour of the UK and the Softball World Cup just around the corner. On Monday I chatted to our tamariki about the value in being part of team. I shared a story about this weekend just been where my son was privileged to experience getting his first ton in cricket. While Amy and I were obviously very proud of him, it was the team effort that supported him to get there that impressed us the most. His team mates played a critical role in this success and I am certain that without their input and influence he would not have been able to achieve the milestone.
My challenge to our children (and to us all) was to identify the many teams we are apart of in life. Use the role we have for good, be the positive influence and thank your friends, colleagues and family for their support and contribution. Everyone benefits from being apart of a strong team, no more so than our children.
Warm regards
Geoff

Chess Club
Five students from Endeavour School represented the school at the National Chess Tournament on Labour weekend in Rotorua. The students played against the best in New Zealand and took 6th place. We are so proud of their hard work, good sportsmanship and perseverance. What incredible Endeavour Thinkers, Citizens and Explorers they are.
Miss Stanton's Literacy Group
We have been learning about sound waves. We created telephones with cups and string, experimenting with different lengths and amounts of cups.
We successfully communicated across the school field with our phones!
