Youth and RE: Vision

Youth ministry, like all authentic Christian ministry, originates with God and flows from the person of Jesus through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Christian ministry is the sovereign work of God, yet God, in his divine freedom and grace, invites us to partner with him in his disciple making work. As followers of Jesus, we are disciples and equipped and commissioned to be disciple makers. It is my prayer that student ministry at Central Baptist become centered around discipleship and making relational connections in our community to raise up a new generation for Jesus. Please continue to prayer and if you want to be a part of that vision please come and talk with me.

Visitation

Tuesday visitation has been progressing nicely, with handouts such as the newly acquired Our Daily Bread for Kids, backpacks, and fliers! We have made many great connections, were able to meet some special needs (such as clothing), and were able to better advertise events, such as the Back to School Kick-Off and Movie Night. We are still in need of additional volunteers to join us for visitation in order to better meet the needs of the community-through personal outreach as well as events!

The Back to School Kick-Off

The Back to School Kick-Off, despite the concurrent J.D. Lever event, brought new faces and new doors for visitation of Tuesday nights. Children and adults alike thoroughly enjoyed the water-slide, meet-and-greets, supplies, and refreshments. A special thanks to all who participated in helping to set up and coordinate the events. Most importantly, a special thank you goes out to those who intimately connected with the kids through play, conversation, and the opportunity to witness in word and deed alike! May next year prove to be even bigger and better!

Movie Night

Movie night, kicked off with the initial and successful featuring of The Letter Writer, will continue each month, with the hope of bringing others into this relaxing night of media, refreshments and fellowship! Be sure to invite your friends each month!

Bibles and Boardgames

Bibles and Boardgames, a young adult bible study and board game bonanza has been a success each Sunday night! Rarely is there a dull face afterwards. All are invited Sunday nights at six o’clock for fun and an examination of the Word from a young adult angle.

Trunk or Treat

On October 31st, Central Baptist Church will be holding its annual Trunk or Treat at the ball-field. This year includes plans for hay rides, a bonfire, candy for the children, and entertainment! We invite you all! Candy donations are welcome!

A Message From Pastor Buddy

Hi Kids,

Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Now that summer vacation is over, and school has started back up, life for all of us is busy and challenging. It’s time for homework, and tests, and projects again. That’s a lot of pressure and it’s not always easy. As you go through the struggles of the school year, remember that God is right there with you and that He cares about you more than you can even imagine. When you feel like you just can’t do it – look to Christ and He will strengthen you and help you to be successful in your schoolwork. Don’t get discouraged, and never give up. Just remember that you can do all things because God is helping you.

Have a great week!

Your friend,

Pastor Buddy
