We Have Plenty to Be Thankful For
Each year as Thanksgiving rolls around, I like to take some time to reflect on all of the things I'm thankful for. I'm thankful every day for my family, my friends and my colleagues, who make this division a wonderful place to work and live.
This year, I am especially thankful for the support we receive from the Albemarle County community. One of the signs of a healthy school system is enrollment. During the COVID-19 pandemic closure, ACPS lost some student enrollment. But, over the past two years, our enrollment in schools has increased by 377 students and next fall we are projected to exceed our student enrollment from the 2018-19 school year.
However, if I listed every thing I am thankful for in this division, this newsletter would never end. So instead, I will leave you with wishes for a happy and safe holiday.
Sincerely,
Dr. Matthew S. Haas, Superintendent
