Patriot Pulse
April 2020
Dear Grissom Families,
It is our hope that everyone is staying healthy and safe. We thank you for your patience and support as we navigate through this time of uncertainty. The Grissom Staff misses seeing our students everyday.
Our goal is to continue to meet the needs of our students both academically and emotionally. Our teachers have been busy aligning curriculum and creating eLearning lessons that will begin Monday, April 6th.Teachers will post assignments daily by 8:30 a.m. and will hold office hours from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. During that time teachers will provide feedback, instruction and/or support. Students can check in with their team and access their assignments at any time throughout the day though. Please refer to the detailed information from your student's team and on the district website. Please do not hesitate to contact any of our Grissom staff. We are in this together! #D140Together.
Attendance
- Teachers will post a morning message by 8:30 a.m. with assignments and/or content for the day.

Students can contact their teacher for questions during teacher office hours of 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Please be patient, teachers may be responding to other students or preparing lessons for the next day. They will try to make sure they answer questions within 24 hours.
Assessments
The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has given our district guidance that progress will be reported or graded as Pass / Incomplete. The goal of grading during remote eLearning is to provide specific feedback, focus on the continuation of learning, and prioritize the connectedness and care for students. Grades should not negatively impact learners.
