October 31-November 3: GAEA Conference in Jekyll
November 4-9: Broadway Week/PL Week
- During this week, I will be in town but in schools every day of the week with our Broadway clinician
- On Tuesday of this week (Nov. 6) you will all be a part of the PL sessions that I have set up. I have appointed a host to be in charge of the starting and running of the session.
- I will NOT be at each session for long but will be dropping in that day at every session. Obviously not at the beginning of each session because omnipresence is reserved for someone much more important than I.
PLEASE NOTE RESPONSES NEEDED - See below Chorus/Drama Folks
Chorus/Drama Replies Still Needed
- 1st REPLY NEEDED - Sunday Night, November 4 – Meet and Greet dinner will be at a restaurant (location TBD) - I need to know if you are planning to come and how many will be in your party so I can let the restaurant know.
- I need to know THIS RIGHT AWAY because when talking with potential restaurants they are wanting to know now how many we are looking at before they commit to saying yes they will host a large group. PLEASE EMAIL WITH YOUR RSVP even if it is a NO so I can plan.
- Since this is a NEW plan, please email me with your response even if you already responded to the original plan that was dinner at my house.
2. 2nd Reply Needed - Master Class: There is still an opening if you are interested in having Stanley work with one of your kids for the Master Class Session as part of our PL on Tuesday, the 6th - please let me know if this is something you are planning to do.
- Video submissions of students entering for that are due to me by the end of the day on November 1
SO to recap - send me an email with 2 responses.
Example:
Hello Katie. This is Suzy Soprano. I will definitely be meeting you for dinner and the meet and greet with the clinician. I will be bringing my husband and my boyfriend as well as each of their 12 children. I am sending a video submission from my worst tenor for the Broadway Master Class - hopefully he can help Placido because I have tried every trick in the book.
Elementary Music Reminders
Please let me know right away if there is a problem that will hinder your meeting this deadline.

Karen Emerine, Show Stopper!
Cinnamon GRITS - Christmas in the South
Karen Emerine (Hutchens Elementary) will be reprising her role in Cinammon GRITS, the follow-up to last year's show, GRITS. I saw the first one last year and it was hilarious! Come out and support Karen in her performance!
A spin on the new hit production, GRITS: The Musical! This time the gals are bringin’ it to you HOLIDAY STYLE in this all new original musical! From the old time honored traditions like turkey and dressin’ to your Aunt’s stale fruitcake, this production presents all things CHRISTMAS… southern style! The gals will be tellin’ stories from past Christmases to present day traditions. Some funny, some touching, some ridiculous, but all in the flavor of the south.
The holidays are a time of celebration in the South, from our ornate decorations and lavish holiday soiree’s to our interesting and endearing family dysfunction, this is a show that gets everyone IN THE SPIRIT!
