A Message from the Athletic Director
Wow, what an amazing ending to the 2021-2022 school year from an athletics stand point. Our spring sports teams and individuals did not disappoint and were recognized both as teams and individuals at the state level. We had teams win FML Championships, District Championships, with multiple individuals placing at the state level topped off with our 4x100 relay on our girls track team defending their championship by winning another State Championship in the event! Congratulations to all of our athletes and their parents for having such an amazing year. The work that I see our student athletes put in on a daily basis absolutely pays off!
With that said, to compete at a high level the training has to be done throughout the year, not just during season. I'm a firm believer that great players are made in the off season. Even though I know a lot of our programs are doing summer training now, please don't forget that you are only a kid once and it is okay to take some time for yourself and do family things. Communication with coaches regarding time missed is key! Enjoy your summer and it won't be long before August 8th is here and we are at it again!
Enjoy and Go Eagles!

"Thank you for all your hard work for our garden at Argentine Early Childhood Center. We couldn't have done this without your help. We would like to extend utmost gratitude to you and your team. You helped us to reach our goal of getting the garden ready for planting which is an important part of the students summer learning experience. What an amazing experience for our school age children to see older students care for and value the garden space that means so much to our school community." - A message to our Lacrosse team from Denice Westervelt, our Early Childhood Director.

A Message from the Softball Coaches
JV Softball
The girls ended a fine season with a 23-3 record. Highlights of the season were a 4-0 record vs. both Clio and Lake Fenton, both of whom are very good programs. In Early May we went to Troy Athens and defeated them and Rochester Adams to go into the championship game vs. Trenton whom we defeated and won that tournament (Trenton Varsity team played in the State Finals). Our Co-MVP's were Addyson Sturgis who hit .575 with 30 RBI and was also 12-2 on the mound with an ERA of 2.28 and Eva Opper who was 7-1 on the mound and hit .500 on the year. Co Defensive players of the year were Isabella Indish and Ella Kenyon and our most improved was sophomore Grayce Andrews who hit .477 with 14 exta base hits and 38 RBI. Indish led the team with 44 runs scored and Kenyon led us with 43 RBI. Lots of great young talent with this group of girls.
Varsity Softball
The Eagles set a school record with 30 regular season wins this year in a season that saw them claim 1st place in the Stripes Division and win their 3rd district in a row, which is also a school record. We fell a little short vs. Essexville Garber in the Regional opener 4-2 after leading for the first 6 innings. Garber finished in the final four. But overall the team was 32 win 8 losses and 1 tie. The second half of the season was highlighted by a tournament win at Ogemaw where we lost the first game and had to battle back in a double elimination tournament and win 5 games in a row. We pounded 15 home runs that Saturday led by 3 each from Morgan Piotrovsky, Megan Widner and Ava Siegwald. The next weekend we traveled to Coleman and won their tournament where we beat Garber 5-4 behind a stellar pitching performance from Megan Widner and a timely home run from Maizy Aeschliman. In the opening game of districts we got down to Lake Fenton 3-0 before storming back to win 8-6. Mikayla Timm was brilliant in the district finals beating Brandon 3-0 for our 3rd Championship in a row. The hitting was led by Honorable Mention All Stater Olivia Burke who led us with a .525 Batting Average. She also hit 7 homers and drove in 63 runs (2nd in school history) and had 73 hits (2nd in school history) Ava Siegwald led us with 9 Homers. She also hit .418 with 38 RBI's. Our Defensive player of the year was Hannah Bollinger who also hit .462 with 4 Homers and 59 RBI. And our MVP was Mikayla Timm who was 24-6 on the mound with a 2.471 ERA. Mikayla also had 170 strikeouts.
We our going to miss our 3 seniors who are all playing ball at the next level. Haley Ludwig (Cleary) Hannah Bollinger (Mott College) and Mikayla Timm (Lawrence Tech), but we have a bright future with a lot of youth returning plus a strong JV program.!!!
