TSD9 Times-For Parents

September 2021 Issue

Message to Parents

Welcome back to a new school year!! Having students walk through our doors this last week was amazing! It is extremely important to us that we keep all students and staff healthy and that we stay in school as the year progresses. We know you've seen this in other letters, but thought now that we've started school, we'd share it again. Here are a few things you can do to help us keep everyone safe and healthy:

  • Keep your child home if he/she is sick.

  • Please notify your child’s school immediately if he/she is directed to quarantine by the local public health authority

  • Teach your child how to wash their hands with soap for 20 seconds.

  • Remind your child to cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or by coughing into the inside of their elbow.

  • Remind your child to stay at an appropriate distance from others when possible.

  • Remind your child to wear their masks properly throughout the day.

Remember, if your child is quarantined, we are here to help. Teachers will work with you and your child to ensure work is available to them. Click here to see the district's Response to Quarantine Plan.

Big picture

We welcomed a lot of fantastic new teachers to the district on August 27th. New staff attended an orientation at the high school to learn all of the ins and outs of the school district. Some of the faces may even look familiar as they are Tillamook alums and/or have worked for the district in the past as support staff. Welcome everyone to the TSD9 team!!

Covid testing will again be offered to students who are being sent home ill. No students will be tested without written parent consent. Even if we have your written consent, we will call prior to testing. All staff conducting the testing have been trained according to requirements set by OHA and ODE. The consent form for testing your child is linked below. If you wish to have this option for your child, please sign and return to the school.
