How did the Milky Way Galaxy get its name?
The Milky Way Galaxy gots its name by its looks. The term "Milky Way" is a translation of the latin via lactea from the greek. The way the Milky Way is it looks like a band because of its disk-shape structure.
The Milky Way Galaxy started forming 12 billion years ago. The galactic center is located 26,000 light years. Its the center of the Milky Way.
