HEARTS (School Climate & Community)
Dressing up for the Parade
Halloween Parade
2:05- Upstairs
2:10- Kindergarten
We will not worry about getting in grade level order. Just follow the classroom next to you starting with Mr. Witte's class. If you class isn't ready, just let the next class go so we continue the flow.
Classes will parade around the outside of the school, then turn left on Adeline, turn left on 53rd, then back into the school at the bus gate.
Take one lap around the track/field and then head back to your classroom to prepare to go home.
Halloween Reminders
Remind your students and their parents that nobody at schools will NEED any extra candy or sweets this week and that there is no candy in lunches this week (or any week).
SEL Buddy Classes
The Tool of the Month is "Personal Space".
Be sure to teach your students this important tool!

If you or someone in the community has questions or concerns, please reach out to me and I can connect people with the Risk Management employees who can help to provide more information.
What time is Tardy?
It has become hard to manage tardies for the office team because students are arriving together from the same family and one sibling is being marked tardy and the other is not. When we meet with the parents to discuss students with excessive tardies and there is inconsistency with a sibling's tardies, it makes all of us look inconsistent and inaccurate.
Thanks for following this protocol.
Absence Protocol- Review Required
This is a reminder of the absence protocol:
1) Put in all absences into the sub. system as soon as you know you will be absent.
2) If you are submitting absences in advance, please check the sub system to make sure that the absence has been entered and a sub. has picked it up.
3) Complete absence paperwork and give to Ms. Warren the day you return to school.
4) If you are taking a personal day, this must be requested in writing in advance.
In addition, I'm adding a new procedure which I will review with staff at our staff meeting on Monday:
Due to the shortage in subs, if you are calling in sick, please text or email me and Ms. Plambeck and the office staff that morning so we can make sure your sub. shows up and your children are not left on the yard waiting.
This is to happen EVEN If you think you have a sub. coming as we are routinely having subs. cancel the morning of a job or not showing up at all and this creates a lot of chaos for your class and support staff who scramble to cover your students.
