Google Apps for Education
Over the past year, Information and Technology Services has made significant progress in the early implementation of the Google Apps for Education. At the start of this school year @myoneclay.net Google accounts were created for students in grades 3-12 and all staff members across the Clay County School District. If you have questions about how to access your @myoneclay.net Google account, please call the Service Desk at 904-529-4832.
Our Professional Development Specialists have made visits to all schools who requested training. Hopefully, you've been able to attend one or more of their informative sessions. If you would like more training at your school, please contact your administrator to have them set-up a session.
The Google Apps for Education are now being used by many for professional development and even in the classroom with students. This project has been part of our Digital Classroom Initiative. The feedback has been very positive about this project and we are now ready for the next steps.
During the 2016 summer, Information and Technology Services will convert all SDCC Staff from Microsoft Outlook to Gmail accounts. The conversion process has been designed with the goal of minimizing the impact on staff and faculties. Please continue to watch for these emails in the upcoming weeks for more information about this process.
Part of this conversion will include moving your documents from your H Drive to the Google Drive. The Google Drive has nearly limitless space and moves your files to the cloud which is great because you can access your documents anywhere in the world. Please continue to watch for these emails in the upcoming weeks for more information about this process.
In order to prepare for the conversion, you will see these flyers as weekly communications from Information and Technology Services with information and reminders about how to best ensure that your e-mail and documents make the move successfully.
