Findley Elementary School

November 24, 2020

Message from the Principal

Greetings Findley Families,

I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy holiday. As we take some time this week to connect with our families and loved ones, whether in small gatherings or virtually, I hope you are able to reflect and spend some time thinking about what’s important, each other.

I also want you to know how deeply grateful I am for the opportunity to serve as your child’s principal. It is truly my honor and privilege to be the leader of Findley. I am also deeply grateful for YOU! Comprehensive Distance Learning is working because of you. Thank you for all that you are doing to help set your child(ren) up for success. We could not do this work without you.

We have three solid weeks of teaching and learning before we break for the Winter Holiday. Let’s make these the best weeks yet!

Enjoy your holiday, Dragons!

The 3 W’s for a Safe Holiday

WEAR your mask, WATCH your distance, WASH your hands

This year the Oregon Health Authority has encouraged everyone to participate in low-risk holiday activities to keep all Oregonians safe during the pandemic, because we know social gatherings have been the catalyst for a significant level of spread of the Coronavirus. If you are planning on gathering with family or friends this holiday season, it is important to remember the 3 W’s to keep you and your family safe - wear your mask, watch your distance, and wash your hands!

Low risk ideas for this holiday season:

● Make seasonal dishes with the people you live with

● Enjoy time outside and plan a family walk

● Meet virtually

● Shop locally or online

It is safest to stay home and celebrate. If you are planning on traveling or having someone who does not live with you attend your holiday activities, it is important to take precautions and celebrate safely.

Tips to help keep you and your family safe:

● Stay home and avoid others when you are sick or have been exposed to illness

● Get your flu vaccine

● Wear your face covering and only remove it to eat

● Wash your hands frequently

● Maintain 6 feet of distance

● Limit the gathering to 6 or less people

● Take your seasonal activities outdoors

● Prepare individual food plates to limit the sharing of utensils

● Drive instead of fly, if possible

Get COVID-19 tested before going anywhere or reduce interaction with others outside of your home for 2 weeks before a social gathering

If you want more information, see additional CDC recommendations. Have a safe and joyous holiday season!

MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT BUSINESS OFFICE

Dear Parent

If you have been notified by the District regarding missing library books or have chosen Device Insurance for the iPad or Chromebook and your child is using that BSD device, please be sure to log into your online payment account and pay the fee listed under your child's name.

Thank you

BSD Business Office.

**Good job Findley - So far about $600.00 in fees have been caught up. We are still along way from having everything paid however.**

We are able to purchase additional books with the lost book fee and the Insurance fee will cover repairs for those devices that are returned needing repairs. Please log into your ParentVue Online Payment account and make any payments that are listed as due now. Your prompt attention to this will help reduce the funds due to the district. Thank you so much!

Parents if you are not sure how to do this, please follow these steps.

a. Beaverton School District Website

b. Families > Apps for parents/Guardians > Online Payment System - Login

c. Chose Students name

d. Click on Red "View" button above Shop

This will give you a breakdown of the fees that are due. Please be sure to pay all fees as there could be lost books listed there as well.

Thank you and have a great day!
