Later this month, through a generous grant from the Romeo Foundation for Educational Excellence, Mrs. Raicevich & Mr. Wenz will be inviting Cranbrook Institute of Science back to RMS. Cranbrook will be setting up 14 interactive Science stations in our main gym for our 6th graders to review their knowledge of the topics covered this year.
RMS Book Club can’t stop reading
The RMS book club has been reading the school year away! This group of 7th and 8th graders has read and analyzed three novels together already and are currently wrapping up their fourth. The club meets once a week and members enjoy great literary discussions, fabulous snacks and each other’s company. They even took a field trip to the Emagine Theater to the see the Fifth Wave movie. (Most book club members gave the book a higher rating than the film!) If you love reading, there’s still time to join us! Contact Mrs. Paulson in room 109 for a permission slip and more information.
Builder's Club
Builder's Club is concluding their year with one last visit to the senior home in Romeo and a visit to DQ as a thank you to all its members. We had another fantastic year with fundraising for great causes, parades, recycling, making bingo prizes and sharing them with our senior winners and friends. Until next year- enjoy your summer

Medication Reminder
Medication kept at school should be picked up by a parent at the end of the school year. Students are NOT PERMITTED to bring the medication home at the end of the year. Medication will be disposed of if it is not picked up before the school closing for the summer.
Fall 2016-2017 Sports
Sign-ups for fall interscholastic and Intramural sports will take place at Dawg Days. Please visit the “Sports” table in the cafeteria for additional information during your Dawg Days visit.
Sports Physicals
A sports physical is required to participate in interscholastic sports. Summer is a great time to schedule physicals for the upcoming school year since sports physicals are usually only good for the existing school year. Physicals dated before April 15, 2016 will not be valid for the 2016-2017 school year.
Planning to move???
If you plan on moving next school year, either in or out of the district, and your child will not be returning to RMS, parents are asked to notify the school office by phone, fax or in writing before June 9th. This is very helpful in planning student schedules and it keeps our records current. Thank you!

Enviromental Tip of the Month
Clean up after your pet.
Most of us pick up after our pets to be a good neighbor and keep our yard clean. But there’s another important reason. Pet waste contains bacteria that are harmful to us and our water. Leaving it on the sidewalk or lawn means harmful bacteria will be transported into the storm drains and then into our lakes and streams. So what can you do to help? Simple. Whether on a walk, or in your yard, dispose of your pet’s waste promptly in the toilet or trash.Information for the 2016-2017 school year will be available online. Packets will NOT be mailed home. A postcard will be sent home in mid-June stating when information regarding Dawg Days will be available on the Romeo Middle School website.
